Twelve months now having passed since the year 2011 dawned, lots of media outlets are looking back on the tumultious trail left behind. is no exception.

In what amounts to a rather compelling trailer for their website, Color Lines produced a 90-second short film recapping the most important race-related stories of 2011, providing a short survey of a year that broke down many barriers, but also built many up.

The website, a publication of the racial justice think-tank Applied Research Center, provides daily coverage of race-related issues such as immigration reform, social injustice and economic fairness.
