A video that fifteen year old twins Anna and Rachel Otto created on "Occupy Wall Street, Day 23" has won them an award for "Compelling Imagery" in the Second Annual CNN iReport Awards.
In an interview with CNN's Randi Kaye, the two girls described how they had put together a PowerPoint presentation last October -- when they were only fourteen -- to convince their father to take them from Fairfax, Virginia to New York City so they could film Occupy Wall Street.
The maturity of the twins' editing skills is apparent in the music video they turned out, which caused one of the judges to exclaim that it "demonstrates some great instincts in editing and production."
That accomplishment is all the more impressive since when they spoke to CNN they sounded like any inarticulate fifteen year olds.
Anna explained that they'd gotten really interested in Occupy Wall Street because they "had heard about it, like, all over Facebook and Twitter and a little bit in the news, and so we just kind of wanted to see, like what was going on, like what was happening."
"Being nominated was like 'Oh, my gosh,'" Rachel remarked, "and then winning the award was like 'Whoa!' -- like 'What?'"
