Monday on Current TV, comedian and political commentator John Fugelsang said that bisexual individuals lagged behind gay and lesbians in regards to social acceptance.
“Bisexuals face their own unique brand of prejudice and ostracization,” he explained. “All too often they are misunderstood and distrusted by both the straight and gay communities.”
“They are too often unfairly labeled as everything from insincere or greedy to confused, traitorous or diluters of the brand,” Fugelsang continued.
“There are no open bisexuals serving in national elected office and never have been — and Alexander the Great doesn’t count. It’s a shame because their stories could inspire countless Americans to not feel shame over who, and how, they love.”
