Reacting to news that Republican Gov. Scott Walker had won the recall election, Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow that "money makes a huge difference."

"Scott Walker was running ads against Tom Barrett even before Tom Barrett was actually in the primary race," he said Tuesday night. "The money made a difference, there is no doubt about that."

Erpenbach insisted there was no reason to worry about the Democrats ability to organize a campaign and turn out voters.

"Walker can get all the $500,000 checks that he wants," he said. "One vote for Tom Barret or President Obama in November cancelled out that $500,000 contribution. So the voting matters. The ground game in Wisconsin was real and grassroots."
