NSA whistleblower William Binney was interviewed by internet journalist Geoff Shively at the HOPE Number 9 hackers conference in New York on Friday.
Binney, who resigned from the NSA in 2001 over its domestic surveillance program, had just delivered a keynote speech in which he revealed what Shively called “evidence which we have not seen until this point.”

“They’re pulling together all the data about virtually every U.S. citizen in the country … and assembling that information,” Binney explained. “So government is accumulating that kind of information about every individual person and it’s a very dangerous process.” He estimated that something like 1.6 billion logs have been processed since 2001.
Shively and livestreamer Tim Pool, who was filming the interview, concluded by noting that videos of Binney’s keynote address will be available shortly.

A group of President Donald Trump's supporters were caught on video destroying property owned by Washington, D.C. businesses which have expressed support for Black Lives Matter.
The destruction was said to have occurred on Saturday as Trump's supporters gathered in D.C. to protest the outcome of the 2020 election.
Video was shared by photographer Mac William Bishop on Sunday.
A group of protesters carrying Trump flags and American flags can be heard cheering as men rip down a Black Lives Matter sign that had been installed by a local business. Protesters can then be seen stomping on the sign as others join in with shouts of approval.
A Canadian man blasted President Donald Trump's supporters who have threatened to move to his country after a stinging defeat by President-elect Joe Biden.
In a TikTok video, the man pointed out that a number of conservative U.S. citizens have vowed to move to Canada because they are disgusted by Trump's apparent loss in the 2020 election.
"I've seen more than a few posts by people who are not happy about the results of the election and want to move to Canada," the man explained. "Trump supporters moving to Canada, no! Get that out of your head. We don't want you here. We don't want your COVID here. We don't want your ideals here. We don't want anyone like that here."
Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday compared Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to a Japanese soldier who thinks World War II is "still going on" because he refuses to accept the presidential election results.
"It would seem to me that Republicans on Capitol Hill have a role to play in this," Wallace explained on his Fox News Sunday program. "A very few of them have said, look, you pursue your legal options but, you know, damn down the rhetoric, like Mitt Romney, like Pat Toomey."
