Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney made a campaign stop in Florida on Mondday.

A Reuters analysis found that Romney's vice presidential pick of Paul Ryan could be damaging to Republicans in Florida because Ryan's budget is particularly harsh on Medicare, and the state's elderly population might object to such cuts. Reuters cited a Kaiser Family Foundation tracking poll that found Americans trusted President Barack Obama's handling of Medicare to Romney's, 45 to 34 percent.

A Quinnipiac University/New York Times/CBS poll found on July 30 that Obama is up 6 points in the key swing state of Florida.
