A 4-year-old Texas girl is so exhausted by the 2012 presidential election that it moved her to tears on Tuesday.

Elizabeth Evans told KUSA that she had been driving to the grocery store and listening to election coverage on NPR with her daughter, Abigael, when the girl began to cry.

Evans asked her daughter why she was upset.

"Just because I'm tired of Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney," the girl replied as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Aw, that's why you're crying?" Evans replied. "It will be over soon, Abby. The election will be over soon."

On the trip back home, Evans said that she opted for Neil Young instead of NPR.

Update (3:00 p.m. ET): NPR has apologized for making Abigael cry.

"On behalf of NPR and all other news outlets, we apologize to Abigael and all the many others who probably feel like her. We must confess, the campaign's gone on long enough for us, too, NPR correspondent Mark Memmott wrote. "Let's just keep telling ourselves: 'Only a few more days, only a few more days, only a few more days.'"
