Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones loudly berated CNN host Piers Morgan on Monday night, saying the British journalist would reignite "1776" if he tried to take American's assault rifles away.
Morgan had hoped to talk to Jones about the White House petition he launched, which sought to have Morgan deported from the United States for speaking out against guns. Instead, Morgan received an earful about the "suicide mass murder pills" like Prozac that were being distributed to Americans and how rampaging hordes were burning down cities in the gunless United Kingdom.
"You're a hatchet man of the New World Order," Jones said, challenging Morgan to a boxing match.
Throughout the interview, Jones accused Morgan of focusing on "little factoids" like gun homicide rates rather than the real issues. He said assault rifles were being used repeatedly in mass shootings because they were being hyped by the media.
Near the end of the interview, Jones mockingly spoke in a British accent after being asked about the September 11th terrorist attacks.
"Hitler firebombed his own Reichstag, Piers, to bring in marshal law in Germany," he said. "Governments have staged or allowed terrorist attacks as a pretext to invade and enslave the populations."
With only seconds left in the interview, Jones finally explained his petition: "It's to point out you're a foreigner, a redcoat, here telling us what to do."
