Conservative Pastor John Hagee says that the expansion of rights for LGBT people has made it necessary for him to explain that marriage should only be between one man and one woman -- and anything else is just "two disturbed people playing house."
"The concept is just absolutely staggering," Hagee lamented during the Tuesday broadcast of Hagee Hotline. "The Bible requirements for getting married are these: One, that you marry someone of the opposite sex."
"I never thought I would have to say that on television but these days, it's necessary," he added. "And Genesis 1:1 says that God created male and female. That's a marriage."
"Anything else is two disturbed people playing house."
Hagee explained that the second requirement for marriage was that both spouses be a "Bible believer."
"If you're a young lady, you marry a man that will provide for you," he insisted. "I assure you that anybody can get married. Staying married is a whole new deal."
