The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a case that hoped to overturn a Georgia law that bans people from carrying guns in churches.
The appeal was filed by a non-profit group called GeorgiaCarry.org and a Baptist preacher, both of whom previously lost before the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
They targeted a law passed in 2010 that bans firearms in places of worship, saying it represents a secular intrusion into religious behavior and thereby a violation of the First Amendment.
The Supreme Court refused to hear the case on Monday, among numerous others it denied.
