MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell on Tuesday recalled some of Dick Morris' most ridiculous statements as Fox News announced that he would no longer be appearing on the network.
Earlier in the day, a spokesman for Fox News had told Deadline that Morris' "contract is up and we will not be renewing it."
"First Sarah Palin, now big Dick Morris," O'Donnell reported. "Fox News is rewriting its roster of pundits and, in the process, getting rid of its most-ridiculous players."
"Dick Morris who first achieved fame as an adviser to Bill Clinton and then desperately clung to fame as an attacker of Bill and Hillary Clinton and all Democrats at Fox News, he will surely resurface somewhere, somehow," the MSNBC host predicted. "In the meantime, we will always have our memories of Dick."
As election day neared in the 2012 presidential campaign, Morris had repeatedly claimed that Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was going to win in a landslide, even though polls showed him down in all nine battleground states.
"I believe if the election were held today, I believe Romney would win by four or five points," Morris told Fox News host Sean Hannity in September. “I believe he would carry Florida, Ohio, Virginia. I believe he would carry Nevada. I believe he would carry Pennsylvania — Pennsylvania. And I believe he would be competitive in Michigan.”
As an adviser to Bill Clinton, Morris was reportedly responsible for the triangulation strategy, which led to policies like Welfare-To-Work. He was forced to resign shortly before the 1996 Democratic convention after he was accused of paying escort Sherry Rowlands to, among other things, suck her toes.
According to Morris' website, he is scheduled to appear on CNN with Piers Morgan on Wednesday night.
