Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Monday said that his listeners "have a point" that liberalism does in fact kill people in "mass numbers."

In a Monday radio segment, the conservative talker asserted that "some Muslim clerics have said that you can be gay as long as you do jihad."

"Now the comparison here with jihadis and liberals, I understand it, but the one thing the liberals don't do is order mass killings," he continued. "I don't want to let that stand. I know you're talking about the mind, I know you're talking about the requirement that everybody must follow the right path or else they're going to be excommunicated or discharged or what have you. I get the point."

But after the commercial break, Limbaugh noted that he had gotten a "deluge" of email that had caused him to rethink his defense of liberalism.

"Many of you people out there think that nobody ever disagrees with me because there would be no point," he explained. "Ah, but you would be wrong in this case. I am in the midst of a deluge of email from people who say, 'Rush you're not thinking. When you say that liberalism doesn't kill people in mass numbers, you're not thinking.'"

"And I have to say, they have a point."
