Conservatives lashed out at actress and filmmaker Lena Dunham on Monday over her odd Memorial Day message.
On the day Americans are supposed to commemorate the ultimate sacrifices made by the country's veterans, Dunham informed the world of her voiding habits. The tweet left many perplexed. It outraged conservatives in particular.
"Happy Memorial Day! I've already peed in two different Starbucks bathrooms!" the creator and star of the HBO series Girls tweeted on Monday.
Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin responded by calling Dunham a "rude, classless ingrate." Her website Twitchy mockingly described the tweet as "Patriotism, prog[ressive] Hollywood-style."
"Don't blame her. She literally doesn't know any better. It's not her fault," The Daily Caller contributor Jim Treacher added. "Well, I can't entirely blame her. She's been thrust into a position of influence for which she's entirely unsuited & unskilled," he explained.
Noel Sheppard of Newsbusters said the tweet highlighted "liberal disdain for America's most-revered national holidays."
Dunham previously enraged conservatives by appearing in an innuendo-filled campaign ad for President Barack Obama in 2012.
