A Kentucky man killed himself on Tuesday after police say he ambushed his wife at her place of work and shot her multiple times.
Fort Thomas Police Lt. Rick Whitford told reporters that officers responded to reports of shots fired shortly after 8:00 a.m. at an office building on at N. Grand Avenue.
Whitford said that a man had been waiting for his estranged wife when she arrived for work. He apparently chased her into the building, where she was shot four times with a .380-caliber handgun.
"Witness [are] saying he parked around another office complex and ran after her, chased her into the building; that’s where he caught up with her and shot her multiple times in the lobby, that’s where we found her," Whitford said. "She’s been shot multiple times. I think he used a .380 handgun."
The man then turned the gun on himself. His name had not been released.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Alisha Waters. She was taken to UC Medical Center for surgery.
Her brother, Kurt Russell, told WLWT that she had been in the process of going through a divorce.
