Jon Stewart and his Daily Show team explored "former congressman-turned-amateur photographer" Anthony Weiner's uneven at best efforts to win over residents in various New York City communities on Thursday, with even Stewart -- a longtime friend of Weiner's -- conceding that he was "10 percent man, 90 percent gristle at this point."
Stewart also played a clip of Weiner's latest ill-advised remark: his quip that he hires a housekeeper "once a week, and then I clean up after her when she's done" during a Democratic primary debate Tuesday night.
"There's that charm that borders on the edge of dickishness," Stewart observed, before showing clips of Weiner's "Jamaican acccent" during the West Indian Day Parade and calling 69-year-old Republican candidate George McDonald "grandpa," among other faux pas.
But according to correspondent Jessica Williams, Weiner also blew through Harlem like "an a*shole tornado" in an effort to court the African-American electorate, producing a mock picture of the candidate with an afro, hairpic and jumpsuit.
"We have never dressed like that in the history of time," Williams protested. "Unless we're the Harlem Globetrotters and we're visiting Scooby-Doo for a very special episode."
However, Stewart was almost ready to blast Weiner for his Wednesday argument with a customer at a Jewish bakery -- until catching the extended footage, in which the voter, identified as Saul Kessler, insulted Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, by saying he was "married to an Arab."
"Oh," Stewart said, before concluding. "Well then yeah, f*ck that guy."
Watch Stewart examine the unraveling of Weiner's candidacy, posted on YouTube on Thursday, below.
