New Mexico trick-or-treaters given graphic anti-abortion propaganda with candy

Published

Parents in New Mexico were outraged last week after finding graphic anti-abortion propaganda attached to candy given to their children on Halloween.

Frank Valdez told KRQE that he noticed the cards with photos of fetuses and anti-abortion messages in the trick-or-treat bags belonging to his friend’s kids.

“We just noticed these cards attached to certain candies and started pulling them off, and we were pretty shocked to see that kind of stuff targeted at kids,” Valdez recalled. “They’re forcing an agenda on little kids, pretty much.”

A debate over abortion has heated up in recent weeks in the lead up to a vote on a 20-week abortion ban in Albuquerque. Election day is Nov. 19, but early voting began last week.

KRQE tracked down the woman who handed out the anti-abortion propaganda to trick-or-treaters. While she refused to be go on camera, she defended her right to spread her beliefs if children came to her home.

But some residents think that targeting kids on Halloween should be out of bounds.

“My gut reaction is anger because children should not be subjected to that kind of adult material,” one neighbor insisted to the station.

Meghan McCain described "The Squad" of first-year Democratic lawmakers as the "face" of the party -- and then complained when co-host Sunny Hostin pointed out that's how Republicans and Fox News were trying to portray them.

Hostin called President Donald Trump a racist for telling the lawmakers -- Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib -- to go back to their home countries, and co-host Joy Behar said he was "stupid" for launching those ugly attacks.

"I don't think he's stupid," McCain countered, "but I don't think he's politically astute at all because the politics of this -- on Friday night the progressives and Nancy Pelosi was full 'Gangs of New York'-style fighting with one another on Twitter. It was fascinating to watch."

Kellyanne Conway blows up on Fox: ‘We’re sick and tired of many people in this country’ who support Democrats

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday railed against the four Democratic lawmakers who were the subject of racist attacks from President Donald Trump during a testy interview on Fox News.

When asked by host Bill Hemmer whether it was wise for the president to launch attacks against the lawmakers at a time when he could be touting a positive economic message, Conway replied that he should be talking about them because "we're sick and tired of many people in this country" who are being represented by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (R-MI).

Kellyanne Conway flips out after Fox News asks her about her Trump-hating husband

During a Fox News interview with White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, Fox anchor Bill Hemmer tried to ask her about her husband, Trump-skeptic conservative lawyer George Conway, who just publicly called President Donald Trump a racist — and Conway was not happy.

"We're tight on time," said Hemmer. "Your husband penned a piece in the Washington Post. The title, 'I denied that Trump is a racist. Not anymore.' You've seen it. Do you agree with your husband?"
