Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Andrew Napolitano on Monday told viewers that religious people objected to President Barack Obama's rules about insurance companies covering contraception for women because it also included "euthanasia."
On her Monday night show, host Megyn Kelly asked Napolitano to explain why Hobby Lobby is arguing before the Supreme Court that corporations should be exempt from the contraception mandate based on religious views.
"As everybody knows, the Affordable Care Act requires anybody that employs 50 or more people to provide health care for them that includes contraceptive services," Napolitano pointed out.
"Contraceptive services means contraception, euthanasia, and abortion," he added.
As Media Matters noted, the law actually protects insurers that refuse to provide "euthanasia" services. In fact, Section 1553 of the Affordable Care Act "prohibits discrimination against individuals or institutional health care entities that do not provide assisted suicide services."
And abortion services have also been specifically excluded from the contraception mandate.
