Distinctively tattooed neo-Nazi identified as suspect in knife attack outside CA bar

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a neo-Nazi accused of attacking another man in California with a knife.

Investigators said 29-year-old Jonathan Schmidt, of central Nebraska, stabbed a man trying to break up a fight Sunday night outside a Lake Elsinore bar.

Witnesses said the assailant fled in a green Ford Explorer, and deputies stopped a vehicle matching that description nearby.

Authorities said Schmidt -- who has numerous tattoos on his face, head, and neck – was driving the SUV and had a knife with him.

Schmidt, who is reportedly the founder of the skinhead group Die Auserwählte, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
