A stabbing victim walked into a Queens, New York McDonald's restaurant Tuesday morning with the kitchen knife still protruding from the wound in his back and blood pouring down his white T-shirt.
According to CBS New York, the victim had been in a fight with two men when one of them stabbed him in the back, then fled.
It was around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday when the unnamed victim walked into the restaurant, calmly explaining to someone on his cell phone that he had been stabbed and might be dying.
Diners and employees reacted in shock and horror before rushing to provide aid to the injured man and calling an ambulance. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he is in serious condition.
“I heard everybody screaming and it was a lot of commotion,” said witness Tromaine Yancey to CBS. “The guy came and he was standing there with a knife in his back and it was a kitchen knife.”
"He was on the phone," Yancey continued. "I’m pretty sure he was on the phone talking to somebody in his family or a loved one or something, he was talking to them and telling them it might be the last time he’s speaking to them."
A phalanx of employees and customers quickly surrounded the man, afraid that he would lose consciousness and fall on to his back, driving the knife deeper into his back. Together, they struggled to keep him upright and conscious until paramedics arrived.
Police are currently seeking information or tips about the men who attacked the victim.
