Utah woman accidentally shoots family member driving to pawn shop to sell gun

A Utah woman was recovering on Monday after a relative shot her with a gun they planned to sell.


According to KSL, a 33-year-old women was "manipulating" the gun in the backseat of the car while she rode to a pawn shop in Taylorsville with a 53-year-old female family member, who was sitting in the front seat.

Greater Salt Lake Unified Police officer Jared Richardson said that the gun accidentally discharged, shooting the front seat passenger in the back.

The victim's injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Richardson said that the incident appeared to be an accident.
