Neil deGrasse Tyson to play super-intelligent pig on Disney's 'Gravity Falls'

Astrophysicist and pop culture phenomenon Neil deGrasse Tyson will be a guest voice actor on the Disney's animated series Gravity Falls this season, Time reports.

In the episode, "Little Gift Shop of Horrors," Tyson will play a pet pig named Waddles who consumes a bowl of "brain-enhancing jelly." Waddles then uses his new-found intelligence to design and construct a machine that allows him to communicate with human owners, Dipper and Mabel Pines.

Tyson, who also lends his voice and presence to Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, said of his experience that on the show that "I'm a fan of helping anything get smarter -- even if it is a pig."

"Little Gift Shop of Horrors" will air during the Disney Channel's "Monstober" event on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 9 p.m. EST.
