Fox News pundits mock John Boehner with fake crying as he is elected Speaker of the House
Larry O'Connor fake cries on Fox News (screen grab)

After Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) was re-elected as Speaker of the House on Tuesday, a Fox News host and several pundits mocked him for his skin color and for being unable to control his emotions, and one even pretended to cry.

"You saw him get somewhat emotional there as he tends to do somewhat from time to time," Fox News host Gretchen Carlson explained.

"I'm sorry, I told myself I wasn't going to cry, Gretchen," radio host Larry O'Connor snarked, pulling out a handkerchief to the delight of Carlson and two other contributors.

"Part of me thinks that sometimes that is missing in the male species a little bit," Carlson said, turning to Fox Business host Stuart Varney. "Don't pass out! He's sitting with me here on the set."

Carlson also noted that House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had been so polite to Boehner that she "thought for a minute that they were in the same party."

"But not the same skin color," O'Connor quipped. "Is it me? He looked like a roasted marshmallow today!"
