An Instagram video showing members of Arkansas' Duggar clan sledding on a snow-covered hill has raised animal lovers' hackles across the Internet.
According to BuzzFeed, the short video clip was posted March 1 ago by Derick Dillard, who is married to Jill Duggar, one of the daughters of the famously fecund 19 Kids and Counting family.
In the video, Dillard slides down the hill on a flat piece of metal directly toward an orange tabby cat that is crouched in the snow.
"Move, cat," Dillard said before beginning his descent toward the animal.
"Push him, push him, push him!" someone shouts over and over as Dillard plows into the cat, which does not appear to see him coming.
Social media users have responded furiously, accusing the so-called "Quiverfull family" of deliberate cruelty toward the animal.
"Sure don't think running over a cat and laughing about it is funny. Clearly you are not very Jesus like either," wrote an Instagram user.
Another said, "Not cool, guy. No longer a fan. Cruelty towards animals is not Christian-like behavior. I certainly hope you don't have the same disregard for your child as you do this helpless cat."
"Ugh, what an a--hole. This whole family is a hot mess and horrible people," said another user.
At press time, the Instagram post had more than 1,000 comments.
On Dillard (@Derick4Him)'s Twitter post about the incident, commenters were equally scathing.
@derick4Him can't believe you think hurting that poor harmless cat is funny. Absolutely disgusting. No longer a fan.Watch the Instagram video of the incident, embedded below:
