Orlando Police said that two Florida brothers were charged with a hate crime because they beat a man over his sexual orientation.

The 32-year-old victim told WFTV that he believed the group of teens wanted to attack any LGBT person as retaliation for a fight that had happened earlier at the Callahan Community Center in Parramore.

Cell phone video released by Orlando police shows the man being beaten by about 10 teens last month before he managed to escape. The victim did not wish to be identified because he feared for the safety of his family.

Detectives identified two of the teens as 14-year-old Deandre Florence and 16-year-old Dennis Florence. The brothers were booked for hate crimes and other charges.

Anyone with information about the incident was encouraged to contact the Orlando Police Department.
