Obama trolls Trump with White House invitation to Ahmed: ‘It’s what makes America great’

President Barack Obama on Wednesday invited a Muslim Texas school boy who was arrested for bringing a home-made clock to school to come to the White House.

Obama called the clock “cool” and said Ahmed Mohamed’s inventiveness is what makes the country great.

Some responded positively, cheering the president for supporting the child, who was interrogated after his teacher questioned his motives when making the clock.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Twitter conservatives wasted no time piling on both the president and the 14 year old.

Many seemed to believe the situation had ended well, with some using humor. Some pointed out that the president seemed to be needling GOP candidate Donald Trump and his campaign slogan, “make America great again.”

Per BuzzFeed News' Miriam Elder, the Trump campaign on Friday started selling t-shirts that read "Get Over It" in which the "O" on the shirt is topped by a cartoon of President Donald Trump's hair.

An event held at the Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. earlier this year featured a group of fanatical Trump supporters, including one who said she has dreamed for years of sitting on the president's gold toilet.

As the Washington Post reports, a June 22nd gala at Trump's D.C. hotel thrown by the organization Virginia Women for Trump to celebrate the president's birthday included a talk delivered by a woman named Lucretia Hughes, who said she has been fascinated by Trump ever since seeing a "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" that showed off a solid-gold toilet in his home.
