President Barack Obama on Wednesday invited a Muslim Texas school boy who was arrested for bringing a home-made clock to school to come to the White House.
Obama called the clock "cool" and said Ahmed Mohamed's inventiveness is what makes the country great.
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great.— President Obama (@President Obama)1442422734.0

Some responded positively, cheering the president for supporting the child, who was interrogated after his teacher questioned his motives when making the clock.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Twitter conservatives wasted no time piling on both the president and the 14 year old.

Many seemed to believe the situation had ended well, with some using humor. Some pointed out that the president seemed to be needling GOP candidate Donald Trump and his campaign slogan, "make America great again."
