Martin Shkreli, also known as "Pharma Bro," was miffed that Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (I-VT) didn't accept his $2,700 donation and instead gave it away to a clinic that treats HIV/AIDS.
So he told Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo he would "destroy" Sanders in "any debate about pharmaceuticals" in an interview with the network.
"I think he's a demagogue. He'll say anything to get a vote, and for me to be his piñata is unacceptable," Shkreli told Bartiromo. "I think he has a lot of great ideas... but if he wants to talk about pharmaceuticals he can do that with me. He's refusing to do that because I think he's afraid of the issues. I think I'd destroy him in any debate about pharmaceuticals. I don't think he understands pharmaceuticals at all."
He then said he donates millions to charity and assured Bartiromo he had lots of support, even though no one seems to want his political contributions.
Shkreli, the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, came under fire for jacking up the price of a life-saving drug used to treat HIV/AIDS by 5,000%, from $13 a pill to $750 a pill.
