Samantha Bee: The NRA wants dressing as its 'asinine' mascot to be harder than buying guns

Samantha Bee was determined on Monday's Full Frontal to go to any lengths to dress up as Eddie Eagle, the National Rifle Association's mascot.

"There's something about that costume -- so mockable. So asinine," she said. "I had to have one."

But she discovered that the NRA -- which classically objects to waiting periods for gun sales -- has a 20-day waiting period in place for applications to wear the Eddie costume, and even bans resales of the costume online.

"But you know what I could buy online without a big hassle?" she asked. "A used shotgun on from a random guy down the road from the TBS headquarters in Atlanta. So I had one of my employees buy it from him in a parking lot without a background check from the trunk of his car."
