A Utah woman whose son was shot and killed while joyriding with friends and throwing eggs at cars is begging for any information that could lead to the capture of her son's killer.
Salt Lake City's Fox 13 News said that Ashley Gustin made the public plea during a press conference on Thursday.
"Just think for just an instant of what it's like to have life as you know it completely ripped away from you in a matter of seconds," she said.
Her 16-year-old son and only child Paris Gustin was out with friends in the early morning hours of July 5 egging cars in Rose Park, UT when things turned deadly.
"One of the vehicles that were egged ended up chasing the vehicle that Paris and his friends were in, at some point someone in that vehicle began shooting," said Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer.
Paris was struck multiple times by bullets and died from his injuries.
Ashley Gustin said, "You hunted my child and his friends down as they fled in terror, and, for what? For doing what we all have done as kids: throwing an egg."
Surveillance cameras caught part of the chase and killing on video. The murder suspect's car is described as a white Nissan Sentra with fog lights, tinted windows and a small spoiler on the back. Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000.
