Trump backer gets hammered by CNN after he tries to spin new conspiracy around Clinton ‘cough’
Brianna Keilar speaks to Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) on Aug. 23, 2016.

Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) got put in his place on Tuesday by CNN host Brianna Keilar when he tried to question Hillary Clinton's health.

"A cough is one thing. A coughing fit is something else, where it is a cough on end," he said. "You've seen nothing on the Trump side that would lead you to believe he is nothing but healthy."

"Well there's nothing that would lead you to believe he is healthy, Congressman," she replied. "His letter from his doctor is borderline ridiculous when you talk to other doctors who looked at it."

Specifically, Keilar's colleague Sanjay Gupta has denounced Trump's physician, Harold Bornstein, for describing the Republican candidate as "extraordinarily excellent" and saying that he would be "the healthiest person ever elected to the presidency" if he defeats Clinton in November.

"People don't write like that, that this is 'the healthiest ever.' First of all, they couldn't substantiate. How do you know that someone is the healthiest ever?" Gupta asked. "There's all sorts of language like that. 'Strength and stamina are extraordinary.' What does that mean exactly?"

Duffy did not acknowledge the questions surrounding Bornstein's letter, but instead argued that if Trump had health issues, Democrats would seize on it.

"It sounds like you're trafficking in these conspiracy theories as well," she said. "You're saying because she is coughing she's not as healthy as Donald Trump."
