Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp (KS) involuntarily opened up a can of internet whoop-ass on himself when he complained on Twitter that Pres. Barack Obama is cracking jokes about his race during a racially tense time.

Obama quipped at a Thursday appearance that actor Morgan Freeman would have attended the event, but instead Freeman "undoubtedly is off playing a black president again. He never lets me have my moment."

Huelskamp took to social media to accuse the president of tastelessly joking about race while riots raged in Charlotte, NC.

"Obama jokes about race after two consecutive nights of hoodlums rioting in #Charlotte. Outrageous," wrote Huelskamp -- who lost his primary race this year and will be leaving Congress at the end of the year.

The response was swift and scalding.
