Charlotte man perfectly explains protests: 'Legalize being black... stop killing our people'
Charlotte resident speaks to MSNBC (screen grab)

A Charlotte man on Thursday told MSNBC that the simple solution to ending violence and protests against police was to "legalize being black."

While reporting on protests in Charlotte that turned violent this week, MSNBC correspondent Ron Mott spoke to one young man who seemed to have a grasp on why the black community became upset after police shot 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott.

"Being black is not a crime," the man stated. "Legalize being black. Let us have our freedom. Stop killing our people."
