President Barack Obama welcomed president-elect Donald Trump to the White House Thursday for a 90-minute conversation about the transition of power, foreign policy and domestic policy.
After years of peddling the theory that Obama was not born in the United States and calling his predecessor the "worst" president in history, Trump told reporters it was "an honor" to meet the President, whom he called "very good man."
Given the vitriolic nature of the 2016 campaign, the interaction between Obama and Trump was difficult to process for many; observers took to Twitter to make sense of the surreal scene unfolding before them.
