WATCH: Obama rips Trump for getting forced off Twitter by campaign staff
On Sunday, a New York Times story revealed that in the last chaotic days of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign, his aides have blocked his access to Twitter in order to prevent him from doing more damage to his White House bid.
“Aides to Mr. Trump have finally wrested away the Twitter account that he used to colorfully — and often counterproductively — savage his rivals,” the Times reported. “But offline, Mr. Trump still privately muses about all the ways he will punish his enemies after Election Day, including a threat to fund a ‘super PAC‘ with vengeance as its core mission.”
President Barack Obama mocked the former reality TV star during a campaign speech for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
“In the last two days, they had so little confidence in his self control, they said: ‘We’re just going to take away your Twitter,’” Obama said to the crowd in Kissimmee, Florida. “If someone tweets at 2 a.m. because Saturday Night Live made fun of you, you cannot handle the nuclear codes.”
