Professor who called Trump’s election now predicts he’ll also be impeached
Professor Allan Lichtman made a lot of people’s eyeballs roll when he predicted Donald Trump’s election — except he turned out to be 100% right.
The Washington Post reports that Lichtman is now back with another prediction that will make liberals far happier than his last one. In essence, Lichtman is predicting that Trump will be impeached by his own party.
“This one is not based on a system, it’s just my gut,” Lichtman told the Post. “They don’t want Trump as president, because they can’t control him. He’s unpredictable. They’d love to have Pence — an absolutely down the line, conservative, controllable Republican. And I’m quite certain Trump will give someone grounds for impeachment, either by doing something that endangers national security or because it helps his pocketbook.”
Of course, impeaching Trump would enrage many of his top fans, especially if it’s in the name of installing a bland establishment figure such as Pence. But stranger things have happened, such as Donald Trump getting elected in the first place.
