Kyle Simula, a 29-year-old from Minnesota, was drinking and watching game 5 of the highly-anticipated World Series when a friend dared him to punch a stranger in the face, DNA Info reports.

The incident occurred shortly after the Chicago Cubs won game 5 at 12:30 a.m. CT Monday morning. Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said Simula punched a 23-year-old in the face, chipped his teeth, and broke his jaw.

Simula told police, "My friends bet me that I wouldn't hit that guy." He added, "I don't even know him. I don't know why I did it."

Simula faces charges of "aggravated battery causing great bodily harm" and on Wednesday was ordered "held in lieu of $25,000 bail."
