Ileana Garcia -- founder of the group "Latinas for Trump" -- got a little overexcited when she appeared Wednesday on CNN, shouting down anchors John Berman and Kate Bolduan and insisting that "it doesn't matter" who pays for Pres. Donald Trump's proposed border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. reported that Garcia appeared after a conversation with Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) in which Castro said that border wall wouldn't work and would only function as a symbol to divide the U.S. and Mexico.

"I don't understand how he could make that kind of comment considering that it's not symbolic at all, it's about protection," Garcia said.

The New York Times said that immigration officials and border residents agree that a wall will be largely ineffective at stopping immigrants and drug smugglers. Engineers say the project would be one of the largest civil engineering projects in human history and a logistical nightmare to construct.

Garcia said on Wednesday that the existing border fence should be "fortified" because there is "an existing immigration situation" that must be dealt with.

"It's not just about immigration, it's about protection," she said. "It's about the drugs that are coming through. It's about human trafficking amongst other things."

Former Homeland Security official Juliette Kayyem said a border wall would be "more symbolic than anything else."

"There's about 850 miles of wall already across the southern border," Kayyem said. "The reason why there's not more is because there's water and there's mountains and there's also tribal lands."

Berman asked Garcia about Trump's campaign promise that Mexico would pay for the border wall.

"I think you guys are making too big of a deal out of who's going to pay for it or not," Garcia said, causing both Berman and Bolduan to simultaneously protest.

"The fact of the matter is that there is an issue with drugs in this country," Garcia insisted, "and there is a lack of protection."

Berman said that Trump promised in every campaign speech that Mexico would pay for the wall.

"He did," Garcia agreed, "and that's why he won."

She then went on a rant in which she reasserted, "It's not about immigration, it's about protection...It's about ISIS and about people that are not complacent with the way things are in the United States."

"But John's not asking you about the security situation," Bolduan said. "He's asking you about the payment situation."

"What difference does it make? What difference does it make?" Garcia demanded, growing agitated and raising her voice to a shout. "It’s going to be happen whether you like it or not! You guys can sit here all day and discuss it, it’s going to happen. How it’s going to happen, I don’t know who’s going to pay for it, it doesn’t matter.”

"So you don't care if the American people end up paying for the wall?" Bolduan asked.

"You know something?" Garcia said. "We were paying for sterilizations and abortions overseas, I didn't know about that until recently."

When Berman tried to steer her back to the topic of the border wall, Garcia said, "Ahhh, you don't want to talk about that!"
