J.K. Rowling has been jabbing former fans who have denounced the author and even burned her books over her criticism of President Donald Trump.

The bestselling British author posted screen shots of one social media user's complaint, along with her own acerbic reply, reported The Hill.

“[J]ust burned all my Harry Potter books after being a fan for 17 years. The Phils. Stone was one of the first books I EVER read,” the Twitter user said, according to the screenshot. “I’m upset it has to be that way.. You embarrassed me, disgusted me, and I will never read your work again.”

Rowling laid into the former fan.

“Guess it’s true what they say: you can lead a girl to books about the rise and fall of an autocrat, but you still can’t make her think,” she posted.

Rowling had a sarcastic response to another Twitter user who vowed to burn all her books and the movies based on them after disagreeing with her political views expressed in an interview.

“Well, the fumes from the DVDs might be toxic and I’ve still got your money," Rowling said, "so by all means borrow my lighter."

The author thanked fans who sent messages of support and logged off social media to work.
