Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President Donald Trump who has been given a multitude of tasks in the administration, very rarely talks on camera.
However, Kushner broke his public silence on Monday when he went before the news media to talk about a White House initiative to make government run more efficiently.
"Our goal here is simple," Kushner said at the start of his talk. "We are here to improve the day-to-day lives of the average citizen. That's a core promise and we are keeping it. Together, we will unleash the creativity of the private sector to provide citizen services in a way that has never happened before."
President Trump has given Kushner a wide range of responsibilities in the White House, ranging from bringing peace to the Middle East, to solving the opioid crisis, to reorganizing the entire executive branch of the United States government.
Despite this, he rarely gives interviews or makes public speaking appearances where he talks about the progress that he's making in his work.
