President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the gunman who shot at Republicans at their baseball practice has died.
The president said during a speech that the suspect, 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson, "has now died from his injuries."
Hodgkins opened fire on the Republican congressional baseball team's practice in Alexandria early Wednesday morning. Capitol Police officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect.
