Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) on Wednesday defended Donald Trump’s attacks on Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) by insisting “somebody need to go over into that Senate and snatch a knot in their ass.”

Carter was reacting to the latest healthcare vote, where seven GOP senators helped defeat a straight repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

“I think it’s perfectly fair,” Carter said of Trump’s Wednesday morning tweets berating Murkowski.

"Let me tell you, somebody needs to go over there to that Senate and snatch a knot in their ass," Carter said. "I’m telling you, it has gotten to the point where how can you say I voted for this last year, but I’m not going to vote for it this year.”

“The only thing that’s changed is we’ve got a president who will actually sign that law now, unlike the previous president––Obama––who did not sign the law,” Carter contined. “So it baffles me to think that someone is not in favor of it.”

Carter, who serves on the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, instead the GOP’s American Health Care Act is a “good bill” and “needs to be voted on.”

“It needs to pass,” Carter insisted.
