‘All about control': Alex Jones accuses Houston Democrats of not evacuating city to make Trump look bad

In Alex Jones' world, all roads lead to conspiracy theories.

As reported by Right Wing Watch, Jones floated the idea that the primarily-Democrat Houston City Council might have failed to evacuate the city so they could blame the destruction of Hurricane Harvey on President Donald Trump.

"Is he just completely negligent, insane," Jones said, "or is [Houston mayor] Sylvester Turner conscious of what he’s doing and they’re wanting to blame Trump so they want to make the disaster as bad as possible?"

"Is it complete ineptitude, or is it part of a plan?" he mused.

He went on to say that the president is "aiding the locals" and "absolutely empowering them," and claimed Trump's was "the best response ever."

Though many have plugged Trump's visit to Texas on Tuesday as evidence of an adequate response to the disastrous Harvey, many claim the president has used the hurricane to either deflect from other scandals or to boost his own "ratings."

The Houston City Council, Right Wing Watch noted, chose not to evacuate the city due to concerns for safety, "citing the city’s evacuation effort before Hurricane Rita in 2005 that resulted in mass chaos and dozens of evacuation-related deaths."
