Kit Harington, the English actor who plays Jon Snow on HBO's Game of Thrones, had President Donald Trump on his mind while delivering a speech about the virtue of honesty during the season finale.

"That speech that Jon Snow gave about the nature of lies and what’s been said, and what happens if we don’t stick to our word — we filmed that on exactly the day that a certain POTUS was elected and it had incredible resonance while we were filming it," fellow Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham explained to Variety.

The results of the 2016 presidential election had been announced the morning before the scene with Harington was filmed, Cunningham added. "So it had a certain resonance, I’m sure you’ll understand."

Harington has previously expressed displeasure with Trump.

"Mr. Donald Trump — I wouldn't call him President, I'll call him Mister," he told Esquire in May. "I think this man at the head of your country is a con artist."
