During a Trump rally in Arizona this week, one Trump supporter loudly chanted that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) needed to die -- and Trump himself riled up the crowd at the rally by ranting about McCain's decision to vote against the GOP's plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
On CNN Thursday, Ana Navarro shredded Trump for showing McCain so much disrespect at a time when the senator is undergoing chemotherapy to treat his brain cancer.
"[Trump] is in Arizona, just miles away is John McCain, a national hero who was hanging by his thumbs for five years while Donald Trump was getting five draft deferments, and he leads the chants, the chants against John McCain," Navarro fumed. "He fosters an environment where people are showing up with signs that say, 'John McCain is a traitor,' and 'John McCain should die.' A man who's going through chemotherapy, a man who's fighting cancer right now!"
In response, Trump supporter Ben Ferguson said that while he didn't approve of anyone holding a sign that said McCain should die, he noted that "John McCain is in politics," which means he should come to expect that he will be harshly criticized no matter the circumstances.
