In a subway station in Queens, New York, a drunk bigot attacked a Jewish mother and daughter after mistaking them for Muslims, the New York Daily News reports.
On Wednesday afternoon, a drunk 40-year-old named Dimitrious Zias got into it with the 37-year-old daughter after calling her mother a "dirty Muslim."
Zias then attacked the woman and her 57-year-old mother (both of whom are unidentified), repeatedly punching the older woman's face and body, and punching the younger woman in the face and pulling her hair.
"Get out of my country, you dirty Muslim," he was heard screaming at the two women, who police identified as Jewish.
Being mistaken for Muslim has often lead to enraged bigots attacking people verbally and physically. Less than a week ago, a Sikh man in a turban was verbally abused by a woman who thought he was Muslim, and video of the incident went viral.
