Wu-Tang Clan rips Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli a new one on diss track ‘Lesson Learn’d’
Rap group the Wu-Tang Clan released a new track on Friday called “Lesson Learn’d” with lyrics calling out jailed pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli — with whom the band has a contentious history.
The New York Daily News said that the song contains lyrics calling Shkreli a “fake-a** super villain,” “the man with the 12-year-old body” and “Pee-Wee.”
The former Turing Pharmaceuticals head bought the band’s most recent full album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” for $2 million, although reports have circulated that what Shkreli actually obtained was not an actual copy of the album.
Shrkeli was jailed this month for violating the terms of his probation sentence for a securities fraud conviction. U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto was responding to a stunt of Shkreli’s in which he offered a bounty of $5,000 for a lock of Hillary Clinton’s hair.
The hedge fund manager turned drug company executive first came to national attention when he jacked up the price of a drug for HIV and AIDS patients from less than $14 per pill to $750.
