‘Very much a racist’: Former ‘Apprentice’ producer claims secret Trump tapes are ‘unfathomably despicable’

Former Apprentice producer Bill Pruitt revealed this week that President Donald Trump had been recorded saying “unfathomably despicable” and racist things during his time on the show.

Following last year’s leaked Access Hollywood tapes in which Trump brags about sexually assaulting women, Pruitt suggested in a tweet that Trump was on tape saying “far worse” things.

Newsweek reported that Pruitt disclosed additional details about Trump’s time on the show while speaking to NPR’s Embedded podcast this week.

“We recorded constantly, we went into the boardroom to set up discussions about how and who should get fired [on the show] without talking and saying directly who got fired, so there was a big ,long exchange, all of which was recorded,” Pruitt explained to NPR. “Out of those exchanges came some really unfathomably despicable words said by this guy who is a TV star. I heard it, I watched it and those things are somewhere in some warehouse.”

In addition to remarks about women, Pruitt said that Trump made remarks that were ”very much a racist issue” directed at African-Americans, Jewish groups and other minorities.

“When you heard these things there’s the audible gasp that is quickly followed by a cough and then you just sort of carry on,” he recalled.

Pruitt also lamented that “a cultural icon emerged because we weren’t necessarily truthful about our portrayal.”

President Donald Trump declared himself exonerated by former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in an early morning tweet.

The president tagged Lewandowski, who testified Tuesday before the House Judiciary Committee, and "Fox & Friends" in a Twitter post reacting to coverage of the congressional hearing.

"As Corey Lewandowski stated very clearly yesterday in front of the House Judiciary Committee, President Trump didn’t do anything wrong or illegal," Trump tweeted about himself. "But they all know that. The Democrats are hurting our Country, and getting nothing done. Shameful!"

‘Trump people lie — we know that’: Ex-House GOP staffer shreds Democrats for letting Lewandowski off the hook

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski denounced President Donald Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski as "rude" and "insolent" -- but her fellow "Morning Joe" panelists ripped House Democrats for letting him off the hook with obstructing their investigation.

Lewandowski turned the House Judiciary Committee hearing into a "circus," Brzezinski said, and panelists agreed he unlawfully claimed executive privilege, and a former Republican House staffer said he should have been charged with contempt of Congress.

"He was a mini Trump," Brzezinski said. "You can speak to Corey Lewandowski in real life, and often you can see someone who doesn't seem like Trump. In front of the cameras, he was playing for an audience of one. He was rude, he was insolent, he was stonewalling and, ultimately, being revealed to be a liar after being shown that he went on a national TV show, Ari Melber, it's not like a camera was shoved in his face, and he chose to lie to the American people."
