After being abducted by her mom’s ex-boyfriend on Halloween, three-year-old Zy’Rah Holliday is back home with her family for Thanksgiving — and is giving them and reporters at Raleigh, North Carolina’s WRAL something to be thankful for.
Zy’Rah was discovered in an abandoned trailer more than 24 hours after her mom’s ex kidnapped her, and beyond some dehydration and nightmares, she was in good health. Her mom Shaquella Murchison told WRAL that as the weeks wore on after her abduction, Zy’Rah’s had fewer and fewer bad dreams.
The toddler from Harnett County, North Carolina went missing on Halloween Night, and after a search that resulted in an Amber Alert, was found.
“I can be happy again,” her mom said after Zy’Rah was found in good health. “That tore a piece of my heart out.”
