Mueller fired top FBI investigator for exchanging politically charged texts about Trump: report
An FBI official assigned to Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election was removed this summer after his bosses discovered texts shared with another official attacking President Donald Trump.
According to the Washington Post, Peter Strzok, who was a key participant into the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server was asked to step aside, according to sources.
Strzok was involved in a romantic relationship with FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who worked for Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and shared info with her where they they expressed anti-Trump sentiments and made comments favoring Clinton.
