Mo Farah, a Muslim four-time Olympic gold medalist, wished his Instagram followers a "Merry Christmas" on Monday -- and appeared to anger Islamophobic trolls in doing so.

As The Independent reports, many of the people attacking the former Olympian in the comments of his post claim he's not "allowed" to wish people a Merry Christmas because he's Muslim.

"Are you serious?" one comment read. "You are Muslim you can’t do this, I’m sorry for you."

"The respect I had for you went way down," read another. "Shame bro."

Although some users pointed out that many Muslims respect Jesus Christ as a prophet on par with Mohammed, other racist commentators had something to say about that as well.

"Nobody cares what peadophile [sic] false prophet Muhammad has to say," another read. "The Quran is a book of fables and pagan rituals stolen from other false religions."

Others, however, thanked Farah for the interfaith holiday wishes.
