Jake Tapper forces GOP Rep. Mia Love to admit Trump’s ‘sh*thole’ comments about Africa are ‘racist’

Republican Rep. Mia Love of Utah on Sunday accused President Donald Trump of making “racist” remarks about Haiti and African Countries.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Love sidestepped the fact that Republican lawmakers had yet to forcefully condemn Trump for reportedly saying that African countries were a “shithole” and immigrants from Haiti did not deserve to stay in the United States.

“Were the comments racist, do you think?” Tapper asked Love.

“Um, well,” Love stuttered. “I think they were — yes. I think that they were unfortunate. I don’t know if they were taken — I wasn’t in the room when the comments were made. I don’t know which context they were made. I’m looking forward to finding out what happened.”

This week, Madonna made headlines for a very eccentric, Madonna-esque Instagram post. In her picture, she was laying on what looked like a hospital bed, receiving intravenous therapy (IV) as a woman played a Tibetan bowl above her body.

“Felt amazing afterwards!!,” she wrote in the caption.

Madonna wasn’t in the hospital, however. While her exact whereabouts are unclear, she was getting a vitamin IV drip, an emerging wellness service not covered by insurance that has caught fire with celebrities. IV drips, though prohibitively expensive for most, have become in vogue among self-care enthusiasts who can afford the treatment.

Trump has engaged in obstruction of justice, abuse of power and other high crimes and misdemeanors in his effort to extort or bribe the government of Ukraine into aiding him in the 2020 presidential election. Donald Trump also usurped the power of Congress to allocate public money in the form of military aid to Ukraine.
